Reported Rangers target Nicolas Raskin looks on the brink of leaving Standard Liege as his fall-out with the Belgian club hits fever pitch.
Raskin was bombed out of the Liege first team to train with the kids after knocking back a contract extension and there appears to be no way back for the 21-year-old, who seems dead set to leave next month. It was widely reported that Rangers were interested in a deadline day move in the summer it it failed to materialise with Gio van Bronckhorst settling for what he had in the middle of the park.
But with the Ibrox midfield options ageing, Michael Beale will be keen to add some youthful energy to his engine room and could revive a deal. It's now being reported in Europe that Raskin has been left furious with his treatment by the club and has asked his agent to instigate talks over an exit, which could see him leave either in January or sign a pre-contract ahead of a summer exit.
Standard would likely command a decent fee but any outlay would be for a fraction of his value with Raskin a key player for them prior to his fallout with the board and his manager, ex Celtic boss Ronny Deila. He has 18 appearances this season and four goal-involvements from central midfield.
Going in the other direction, Ridvan Yilmaz has been linked with a move away and could leave Ibrox on loan if Beale decides game-time is the way forward for the youngster. His summer move hasn't quite gone to plan with Borna Barisic holding down the starting jersey and youngster Adam Devine has recently shot to prominence as an option in that position, starting against Hibs last week when neither Yilmaz or Barisic were available.
However latest from Turkish outlet Aksam says Rangers have told Galatasaray they are not prepared to loan him out for now, with Beale seemingly keen to get him back fit and assess him. That's not to say an exit won't materialise later in the month but Beale has reiterated he wants to look at the options currently at his disposal before making any transfer decisions, and that applies especially to players like Yilmaz who he didn't work with prior to joining Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.
