Rangers are to set to land a financial package rising way above £20 million from the sale of Calvin Bassey to Eredivisie champions Ajax.
The Dutch kings have sold left-back Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United and have splashed out big on Bassey as his replacement. Rangers have hailed the deal as 'the largest' in their history and the buying club have revealed just how much they have netted from that. A fee of £19.58 million rising to £22.5 million is what Bassey will pocket his now former club, two years on from a low six-figure compensation fee switch from Leicester City.
It follows on from a hugely successful seven months of trading for the Ibrox club. Nathan Patterson joined Everton in January for around £16m while Joe Aribo joined Southampton for what could reach £10m earlier this summer. Rangers have thanked Bassey for his service over his Glasgow stint.

They said: "Calvin leaves with best wishes from everyone at Rangers and we thank him for his hard work and commitment over the past two seasons."
Ajax said in their statement: "Ajax has reached an agreement with Rangers FC and Calvin Bassey about the transfer of the defender to Amsterdam.
"The English Nigerian player has signed a contract with Ajax that will take effect immediately and will run for five seasons, until June 30, 2027.
"Ajax will pay a transfer fee of EUR 23 million to Rangers FC. Due to variables, that amount can increase to EUR 26.5 million."
