Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named his Rangers team for today’s huge clash for Aberdeen.
Pressure is mounting on the Rangers boss as his side welcome Jim Goodwin’s Dons to Ibrox. Rangers go into the contest desperate for three points after last weeks dismal draw against Livingston. That result saw the Light Blues slip four points behind rivals Celtic, with fans bemoaning an uninspiring performance lacking creativity and a spark.
Life didn’t get much easier for Rangers this week as they were swept aside by Napoli in the Champions League. Van Bronckhorst’s men are staring an unwelcome ‘worst ever’ tag in the face in Europe’s elite competition should they lose against Ajax on Tuesday night. Today though, it’s all about league business and three points is a must against the side from the North East. Van Bronckhorst has brought back goal-machine Antonio Colak who hasn’t netted in three. Ridvan Yilmaz has been given another chance to shine having started in Naples.

In midfield, Tillman keeps his place, with Lundstram and Sands slotting in. Leon King starts despite injury fears, as does captain James Tavernier.
Speaking ahead of the match Van Bronckhorst said: “The most important thing is to get the three points. Of course, you always want a positive result with a positive display so that is what we are going to try to do.
Rangers XI: McGregor, Tavernier, King, Davies, Yilmaz, Sands, Lundstram, Tillman, Sakala, Kent, Colak.
Subs: McLaughlin, Davis, Matondo, Morelos, Wright, McCann, Barisic, Arfield, Devine.
