Rangers player ratings v Livingston as Lundstram spares Ibrox flops in dismal Lions showing

Rangers have dropped two points in their latest Premiership match with Livingston via a 1-1 draw.

The Light Blues were stunned early doors as Joel Nouble scored to put David Martindale's side ahead at Ibrox. Dundee had frustrated Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men midweek as they scraped a 1-0 win in the Premier Sports Cup and an identical theme played out here, with no shots on target registered in the first half as boos rang out after another dismal showing.

It had the feeling of a huge 45 minutes for van Bronckhorst but still his side were being frustrated and James Tavernier being the best sight of goal - a shot from 30 yards straight at Shamal George - showed how hard it was for the home side. They had a slightly better period in the second phase of the second half and were boosted by Morgan Boyes' red card for the visitors, with John Lundstram rifling in a late goal. Still, they find themselves under more pressure and four points behind Celtic in the title race, another bad performance pushing them closer to crisis point. Here is how we rated the Rangers players on another abject day in Govan.

Allan McGregor - 5

Beat by Nouble early doors and let a ball go across his box and all it needed was a Livingston body to double the advantage at 1-0.

James Tavernier - 4

Beaten for the goal. Found wanting in attack and didn't have a good time up against Montano. Looks a yard off the pace.

Ben Davies - 6

The experienced man in defence right now. Trying to stand up and be counted, not doing too much wrong, but did little to speed up his side's play.

Leon King - 5

Another start for the youngster and he's being forced to show senior credentials in the eye of a tough spell for his side. Strangely hooked at half-time, wasn't the worst performer.

Borna Barisic - 5

The plan of attack seemed to be Barisic to Kent, then back to the Croatian, and a big high cross in the box. It didn't work and lack of forward passes becoming a worrying trend.

John Lundstram - 6

Admitted this week that he'd been playing through the pain barrier of an ankle problem and perhaps that's partly the reason why his tempo has dropped. Tried to build play from the back and made big contribution late on.

Steven Davis - 4

Making his 250th league appearance for the Light Blues but oddly found himself drifting out to a position that looked like right midfield. Not his bag at 37 and subbed at the break for an actual winger.

Malik Tillman - 5

He didn't complete every pass or do every action right but at least looked to be putting in the hard yards, which is more than what can be said for some of his peers in recent weeks.

Scott Arfield - 6

Tried to make things happen going forward but there seemed to be an over-reliance on him trying to carry a fight to Livingston. Concerning for the rest of the players.

Ryan Kent- 6

Crisis of confidence seemingly appeared to be ongoing. Didn't lay a glove on Livingston but eventually landed a crucial blow with a cross for the leveller. Perhaps what he needs.

Antonio Colak - 5

Looked the most likely goal threat early doors but chances were few and far between. Next to no service but did try to make things happen on his own, including a bicycle kick.

Rabbi Matondo - 5

Brought on to try and inject some pace into the team. Started pacey and energetic and benefited from his side's upping in tempo. But actual end product didn't come off.

James Sands - 5

Replaced youngster King in a confusing sub, not on the American's part mind.

Alfredo Morelos - 5

Brought on to partner Colak in a rare move by his boss. Caught high by Boyes who was sent off for the Lions.

Fashion Sakala - 4

Another attacking sub as they looked to salvage something from this.- Didn't too too much of note.

Kemar Roofe - 4

Made his first Premiership appearance of the season. More about building fitness rather than anything else.
