Rangers consider permanent transfer for Belgian international in key position

Club Brugge defender Hugo Siquet is under consideration by Rangers before the close of the transfer window.

Rangers want to strengthen their right-back position and are considering Siquet.

The Rangers Review reports that Derek McInnes was keen to add another option in that area despite having Ross McCrorie and Dujon Sterling competing for the slot.

Vanja Dragojevic started at right-back against Hibernian on Sunday, with Findlay Curtis then utilised there before McCrorie's introduction in the second half.

Siquet, who joined Club Brugge in 2024, has previously played for Cercle Brugge and Standard Liege. He has one international cap, gained when he came off the bench against Estonia three years ago.

Aston Villa's Kosta Nedeljkovic is also a potential recruit, with initial discussions about a loan deal already taking place.

Currently, there is no clear favourite for who will join McInnes' squad. However, the team hopes to secure Siquet permanently, with a seven-figure fee anticipated.

The decision comes as Rangers look to bolster their right-back options before the transfer window shuts.
