The Tennessee Titans desperately needed to address their offense going into the 2023 NFL draft, and while the team didn’t adequately address its need at wide receiver, Tennessee did go all offense with its six picks.
Those six picks included offensive linemen Peter Skoronski (first round) and Jaelyn Duncan (sixth round), quarterback Will Levis (second round), running back Tyjae Spears (third round), tight end Josh Whyle (fifth round), and wide receiver Colton Dowell (seventh round).
And, with those six selections, the Titans made franchise history.
According to John Glennon of Nashville Post, this was the first draft since it expanded to seven rounds in 1994 in which Tennessee drafted players all on one side of the ball.

The Titans were also the only team in the 2023 NFL draft to have all their selections come on one side of the ball.

When asked about making selections all on one side of the ball, general manager Ran Carthon admitted he didn’t realize it until after the draft.
“It honestly just dawned on me about 30 minutes ago that it was all offense,” Carthon said, per Teresa M. Walker of the Associated Press. “We were just playing the board… But it wasn’t a designed plan or anything.”
While the defense certainly has some question marks, there was enough talent and promise there to allow Tennessee to focus heavily on the more needy side of the ball.
