The Los Angeles Rams are on the verge of making their biggest move of the offseason so far. According to Ian Rapoport, the Rams are in talks with the Miami Dolphins to trade Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey’s name has been floated in trade rumors for weeks and now the Rams are about to move the All-Pro cornerback as they continue to clear cap space and rebuild their roster.
Ramsey has been with the Rams since 2019 when the Rams acquired him from the Jacksonville Jaguars, giving up two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder. He made the Pro Bowl in all four seasons he was in Los Angeles, earning All-Pro honors in 2020 and 2021.

The Rams signed Ramsey to a five-year deal worth $100 million before the 2020 season, so he still has three years left on his contract. The problem for Ramsey is there’s just $5 million guaranteed remaining, so he could be seeking a new contract from Miami.
In three-plus seasons with the Rams, Ramsey picked off 10 passes, recorded 209 tackles and had two sacks – the first two sacks of his career, both coming in 2022.
With Ramsey now gone, the Rams are left with Derion Kendrick, Cobie Durant and Robert Rochell as their top three cornerbacks, so it will be a major position of need this offseason.
