Raiders owner Mark Davis did not hold back against a group of angry fans calling for him to fire coach Josh McDaniels after the franchise’s 24–17 loss on Sunday to the Chargers.
On Sunday, Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack registered a franchise single-game record with six sacks on Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who stepped in with Jimmy Garoppolo out with a concussion. Los Angeles, which led 17–0 at halftime, made key plays in the final minutes of the game to hold on and secure its second win of the season.
As a result, fans were not happy. In a video posted on TikTok, Davis was overheard yelling at the pack of angry fans to “smarten up” while at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Prior to Sunday’s loss, fans became disgruntled with McDaniels after the Raiders’ loss to the Steelers in Week 3 because he elected for Las Vegas to kick a field goal while trailing Pittsburgh 23–15 with 2:25 to play in regulation.

The Raiders (1–3) dropped their third consecutive game of the season in Sunday’s loss, after winning their season opener against the Broncos. Despite Las Vegas being competitive in their last two contests, McDaniels has now registered 17 losses in 28 games in three seasons as a NFL head coach. He is 7-14 since becoming coach of the franchise in January 2022.
If the Raiders keep losing, the noise from fans will only get louder. The Raiders will seek to get back on track when they face the Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 5.
