Raiders comeback falls short, lose to Chargers 24-17

The Raiders were unable to stop their losing streak, dropping their third straight game in Week 4. The Chargers opened up an early lead on the Raiders and Las Vegas just was unable to come back with Aidan O’Connell at quarterback.

The biggest story of the day was Khalil Mack, who recorded six sacks. The Chargers were without several defensive starters including Joey Bosa and Derwin James, but it was Mack who had a historic day. Mack did not have a sack in the first three games of the season but had a field day against both offensive tackles of the Raiders.

It’s hard to judge O’Connell too much coming out of this game as he was under siege all game long. O’Connell has to do a better job of getting the ball out of hands, but the offensive line did not have a strong game at all.

However, his interception in the red zone on 1st and Goal, down seven was the difference in the game. Overall, it was a tough game for the fourth-round rookie QB.

The Raiders will host the Green Bay Packers in Week 5 on Monday Night Football. The Raiders are now 1-3 on the season and 7-14 in 21 games under Josh McDaniels.
