Raging Kris Boyd fillets 'embarassing' defender Robin Propper

Former Rangers star Kris Boyd has not held back in his critique of the Ibrox club's abysmal first half performance against Motherwell, describing the 45 minutes as “embarrassing” and highlighting the glaring issues that continue to plague the team.

In his fiery assessment, Boyd pointed out the lack of presence from Rangers players, saying the 2-0 scoreline “doesn't come as a surprise" on Sky Sports.

He specifically called out defender Robin Proper with a scathing assessment of the Dutchman's defending.

As the players headed into halftime, Boyd hinted at the urgent need for changes, remarking on manager Philippe Clement’s approach to the game.

He said: "But it doesn't come as a surprise, really, that there's no Rangers players near the Motherwell striker at the first goal, because they've not been near anybody all first half.

Robin Proper, I mean, seriously, he spoke about how difficult it was to play in Scottish football, he showed that first half, and he's not been alone.

"I'm interested to see exactly what happens at half time as well. Philippe Clement spoke about, you know, Cerny, Bajrami, Igamane being rested, but they'll be the first players he goes to, to the sports science department to ask the question again, because if it is so, then you've got an issue, because they're running the whole club.

"Right now it's absolutely rudderless. That first half was embarrassing from Rangers once again. I mean, if you're a defender, you want to be strong and aggressive. Propper's not a small boy, I don't think he's won one header. Just go and header it. Just clear your lines and defend the box properly. Embarrassing."
