An upbeat South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou has praised his club's depth after a number of young prospects dug deep in their 36-32 loss to Canterbury.

Missing a host of their stars to State of Origin and injury on Saturday, the Rabbitohs refused to die when trailing late in the second half.
