Queen of the South boss Wullie Gibson said he is still “haunted” by Clyde’s humiliation of his side at the start of the season.
The Doonhamers crashed to a 4-1 defeat in their League One opener at the end of July despite being ahead after less than 60 seconds.
The South capitulated as they received a wake-up call at the start of the campaign.
Gibson is still irked by that result and wants to make amends this weekend.
He said: “I said to the boys in the dressing room that I’m still haunted by the first game of the season when they came here and battered us 4-1 and I hope it still haunts them. I want to go there and put that right on Saturday.
“They’re all big games. I knew when we were going into League One that you’re never going to get an easy game and it won’t be as easy a league as the last time we were in it and ran away with it.
“There are good sides in the league and you can see that. Performances from us need to be better as well.”
The Queens boss has received mixed news on the injury front in recent days. Defender Paul McKay’s hip problem is clearing up but Stuart Morrison could be out for a while with an ankle injury.
Gibson said: “Paul joined us after Kelty Hearts last week with the boys that hadn’t been involved in that game and did a good bit of work on Wednesday and Friday last week.
“Stuart went to see a surgeon on Monday. He’s had results from an MRI scan that aren’t too great. There are two options he can go down and he’ll see the surgeon and they’ll discuss what’s the best way forward for him and his recovery. So until he sees him I’m not too sure what will happen.”
