Pundits question Marcelo Bielsa decisions after another Leeds United half-time double change

Marcelo Bielsa made two changes to the team that lost 6-0 to Liverpool as his side bid for an improved result against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday but the game did not play out as the Argentine hoped, as again Leeds United found themselves 3-0 down at half-time.

With that being the case, Bielsa made a double substitution at the halfway stage, bringing on Rodrigo and Mateusz Klich for Jack Harrison and Pascal Struijk. This was the fourth consecutive match in which the side were two or more goals down at half-time and the fourth consecutive game that Bielsa had made a half-time double change in attempting to fix Leeds' problems.

Discussing this on BT Sport, Peter Crouch said this showed Bielsa made a wrong call with his start XI.

"He's picked the wrong team," said the former England striker.

"He's made changes but he'll stick to the same beliefs and you can see this being four or five, at least four.

Also on punditry duty was ex-Leeds defender Rio Ferdinand.

"One thing that won't change is the tactics," he added. "It will be man for man like it has been ever since he walked in the door here. Why are we going to sit here and expect any different?"

Ferdinand was asked whether Leeds could expect any improvements without Bielsa shifting from his principles and the man Leeds once paid £18million for replied in the negative:

"They'll keep sliding down the league. He believes in what he's doing and you respect that but there comes a point where someone has to say, 'you know what guys, we're conceding too many goals.

"Something's got to give. Something's got to change."
