A public servant proposed to his girlfriend on stage at the Canberra show of comedian David Walliams on Thursday night at the Royal Theatre.
Walliams joked he would be the celebrant at the wedding - as long as it wasn't in Canberra.
Walliams would show up to the nuptials, he said, if the wedding was in Sydney.
Walliams, 53, had a few digs at the national capital during his show.
One audience member pulled him up for calling Canberra "boring".
Walliams also seemed befuddled by Floriade. And, he had a gripe about the cold weather in Canberra on Thursday.
But, in the end, Walliams did say Canberra was a beautiful place. He just might not ever come back to it.
The proposal, meanwhile, was out of the box.
The Canberra couple were both in the audience and chosen to ask Walliams a question.
That led to them both coming on stage and the man proposing to his girlfriend.
She is a teacher and he is a public servant.
She said "yes".
And she seemed as excited to meet Walliams as to being betrothed.
Walliams just seem perplexed.

Walliams' show, meanwhile, was a journey back over his life and career, with characters from Little Britain and Come Fly with Me.
Walliams also addressed his on-air clash with radio host Kyle Sandilands, saying his tour to Australian was worth it just to "destroy [Sandilands' career]" and had a go at Sandilands' weight.
After departing the national capital, Walliams is taking his show, An Audience with David Walliams, to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
