Pub hits back at newlyweds' Tripadvisor review saying wedding party was 'too big'

Pub managers have hit back at a 'cruel' newlyweds ' Tripadvisor review and said the wedding party was "too big"

The disgruntled reviewer claims they were unable to get seated after showing up at the door with a group of more than 12 people.

The newlywed couple expressed their reaction on the review website and seemed 'entitled' to gain entry to the Rose Street Brewery in Edinburgh.

EdinburghLive reports that the social media user from Virginia, US, was unhappy at the way they were treated.

The reviewer wrote: "The staff had an attitude when we came in with a family and friends group of 12.

"They made up a 'law' that only groups of ten allowed in Edinburgh bars.

"We got married in Scotland two days ago, and universally everyone had commented on how friendly this country was.

"This bar was empty and clearly did not want our custom.

"They don't deserve it - two doors down are happy to have us.

"The woman behind the bar is a shameful depiction of my home country."

Unable to leave the strongly-worded review unnoticed, the managers of the pub responded to the unhappy customer.

Bar managers expressed regrets the newlyweds had a bad experience, but said: "Unfortunately, in accordance with the manager's policy, we cannot accept large groups of people which include at least 15 persons.

"This is due to the size of our venue and is not a law, but rather a choice of ours, where we reserve the right to refuse service.

"Staff had apologised and explained that there were other bars in the area that would be able to accept your large group.

"I apologise and understand you're upset. However, I do not appreciate your cruel commentary about staff members in this circumstance."

The city centre venue has a solid four-star rating on the trusted travel platform and comes in the top 500 out of an impressive number of 1,776 restaurants in the capita l.

Earlier this month The Mirror reported how Britain’s sassiest restaurant owner brutally hit back at almost any TripAdvisor reviews that rate his restaurant lower than four stars.

The Pig & Whistle Restaurant, whose owner gets angry when it is called a pub, has an impressive average 4.5 rating on the site from around 1,300 reviews.

But fussy customers have rattled the Pig & Whistle boss's cage by complaining about price, service and the food.

A TripAdvisor review from a customer named Steve gave the restaurant two stars complaining the mains were "tasteless and not hot enough".

But the owner branded the reviewer a “keyboard warrior” and demanded they never returned.

He wrote: "Oh dear, Steve. We definitely don't want someone so grumpy, entitled and disappointing as you back here!

"Our food is definitely not tasteless. How frustrating that keyboard warriors like you get carried away with their reviews."
