PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has broken the club's silence on a failed move for Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea on January transfer deadline day. The forward looked set to make the switch to the French capital for the rest of the season on a loan deal, which could have been a huge move.
The Moroccan international has struggled to earn a spot in the first-team since joining the club, prompting plenty of links surrounding an exit over the past year. While those rumbled on, the winger continued forward into an important World Cup campaign for his nation, where he helped guide them to a semi-final with some impressive displays.
His return to Stamford Bridge saw plenty of bright sparks of exactly what he is capable of, though towards the end of January a move seemed more and more likely. Reports claim the 29-year-old travelled to Paris to complete the deal, even taking a financial hit to do so.

However things broke down as a mixture of wrong documents, a computer issue and a missed deadline were all claimed to be the issue. There was an appeal made by the Ligue 1 outfit, but that was turned down, meaning a huge transfer was missed out for Ziyech in the end.
"These stories aren't the first, they won't be the last," Graham Potter claimed afterwards. "He's a professional player and understands the situation. He's committed to us and available for the squad against Fulham. He will be an important player for us for the rest of the season."
Since then, PSG sporting advisor Campos discussed the situation with Telefoot, saying: "Ziyech? We did everything,” Campos said. “But as with all transfers, the three parties have to work well. It worked with PSG, with Ziyech, but unfortunately, at the last moment, not with Chelsea …”
