Priyanka Gandhi In Lok Sabha: Constitution gives right to form and change govt

New Delhi: Congress General Secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi targeted the government on many issues while highlighting the importance of the constitution, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

Priyanka Gandhi, while making her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha on the occasion of discussion on the 75th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of India, said that the Constitution is the guarantee of justice. It is the light of justice and hope for everyone.

Constitution gives us rights
She said the Constitution gives every citizen of the country the right to form and change the government.  The Constitution is the voice of the freedom struggle and gives power to every Indian to participate in building the country.

Priyanka on Unnao rape
Priyanka Gandhi mentioned the Unnao rape victim in her speech and said that she had gone to the Unnao rape victim's house. Her father said that he wanted justice for his daughter. When he went to register an FIR, he was refused. When the case was not registered anywhere, she told the daughter to give up. But the daughter refused to give up and said that I will fight. This courage has been given by the Constitution.

Priyanka on Arun Valmiki
Priyanka Gandhi mentioned Arun Valmiki, who was killed in police beating in Agra and said that she went to the house of Arun Valmiki, who used to clean the police station. He was accused of theft in the station. The whole family was picked up and taken to the police station. They beat him to death, beat his wife, pulled out his father's nails, beat the whole family. When I met the young widow, she said - Didi, we only want justice, we will keep fighting no matter what happens. Again, this courage has been given by the Constitution.
