Priscilla Presley described her daughter Lisa Marie as "the most passionate, strong and loving woman" in an emotional tribute following her death.
Lisa, the only child of Elvis Presley, suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday and was taken to hospital. However, she died shortly after, at the age of 54.
In a statement, Priscilla, 77, said: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."
Earlier in the evening, Priscilla had asked for people to prayer for her daughter. Telling her followers about her daughter's condition at the time, she wrote on Facebook: " My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care.
"Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time. -Priscilla Presley."
Following her death, celebrities including Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, Pink and John Travolta sent their condolences to Lisa Marie's family. On Tuesday, Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globe awards, where Austin Butler won best actor for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann's biopic.
In an Instagram post, Wilson said: "Our hearts are broken with the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight. Tom and I had spent some time with the family during the Elvis movie promotional tour. Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation about the movie.
"She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad. She had her gorgeous daughters Finley and Harper with her who made us all laugh."
Wilson said Presley had been "gracious" enough to show her round Graceland - the mansion where her father lived in Memphis, Tennessee. "Our hearts and our prayers go out to Riley, Harper, Finley , Danny and Priscilla," she said.
Travolta said his "heart goes out" to Presley's family following the news, writing: "Lisa baby girl, I'm so sorry. I'll miss you but I know I'll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley."
