Priscilla Presley said her family are "stronger than ever" after finally reaching a settlement after questioning the "validity" of her daughter, Lisa Marie's trust.
In a statement after the settlement was approved by court officials, the 77-year-old wanted to clarify that there was "never any lawsuit filed against her beloved granddaughter."
"My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie's untimely passing," she told People Magazine.
"Although some media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter.
"As a family, we are pleased that we resolved this together. My family and I hope that everyone will grant us the privacy we have needed to properly grieve Lisa Marie and spend personal time together," Priscilla added.
"We love and appreciate all of you and the Presley family is stronger than ever."
The only child of Rock legend, Elvis Presley, died in January aged 54 after being hospitalised following an apparent cardiac arrest at her California home.
Shortly after her death, her mother Priscilla, 77, disputed a 2016 amendment to her daughter’s will which stated that Lisa Marie Presley removed her mother and former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees.
The document said they had been replaced with her children, Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin Keough later died in 2020.
The petition, filed in January and obtained by the Mirror, alleged Presley did not receive the amendment while her daughter was alive, as required by her Trust. It had also misspelt Priscilla’s name.
Following the resolution of the dispute, Riley Keough's attorney, Justin Gold said: "She would not have agreed to the settlement if she was not happy with it. She is very content.”
The 33-year-old was reportedly furious at her grandmother's move to take the matter to court, but didn't file an objection to Priscilla's challenge.
It's now become clear that the two have buried the hatchet and settled their differences.
