Prince Harry should be searched for a wire at the King's coronation in case he's recording for his Netflix show, Princess Diana’s wedding dress designer has claimed.
King Charles III’s coronation will take place in May this year, but a debate has raged over whether Harry and Meghan should attend.
Reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be invited, but it was revealed that the royal couple were “undecided” on whether they should go.
It comes in the aftermath of Harry’s explosive memoir Spare, which took aim at a number of senior members of the royal family.
But ahead of any potential visit, fashion expert David Emanuel believes extra precautions should be taken when Harry visits.
The Welsh dress designer said he thought the Duke should be checked in case he tried to record any conversations for his Netflix show.
He told GB News: “I hope he gets searched before he arrives on this land. Because he could be wired up for Netflix let’s be honest. Whatever’s said he will take back and give it to Netflix and do more stories.”
Mr Emanuel co-created Princess Diana’s ivory taffeta wedding dress. She wore the dress, which featured a 25ft-long-train, when she got married to the then Prince Charles in 1981.
In response, the Mail on Sunday’s Charlotte Griffiths said: "There have been reports the Royal Family only plan to talk to him about the weather because they don’t dare talk to him about anything else.”
Host Dan Wotton said there was "no evidence" to suggest the Sussexes had ever engaged in such espionage-like tactics.
However, he claimed sources told him that members of the family were “acutely aware” that what they said to the couple may not remain private.
The relationship between Harry and the royals has been on especially rocky ground since the release of Spare, last month.
The book made a number of explosive claims, including alleging that Prince William said Harry wearing a Nazi costume to a fancy dress party in 2005 was a good idea.
It took aim at William once more, claiming that he attacked Harry after calling Meghan “difficult, rude and abrasive” and saying their relationship was “moving too fast”.
After releasing the Memoir, Harry did a series of interviews as well, which further blasted the Royal Family.
When speaking with CBS’ 60 Minutes last month, he said that Camilla had repeatedly leaked stories about the family in an attempt to “rehabilitate her image”.
Then, when speaking with ITV ’s Tom Bradby, the dad-of-two was asked about the accusation he had invaded the Royal family’s privacy with his comments.
To this the Duke said: “That would be the accusation from people that don’t understand or don’t want to believe that my family has been briefing the press.”
In an interview with The Telegraph, he said that he had enough to share that he could have written two books, but said there were some things he just “does not want the world to know”.
