An alleged string of tense text messages between Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have been brought to light by Prince Harry.
The Duke of Sussex claims the incident, over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress, was largely driven by Kate. He said his sister-in-law was angered by having to wait a day to hear back from Meghan about the "offending" garment ahead of the 2018 Royal wedding.
A claim in his book said that Meghan's suggestion of bringing the dress to a tailor on standby at Kensington Palace "wasn't sufficient" and Kate insisted "all the dresses need to be remade".

The Mirror reports that ahead of the wedding, Harry said Meghan was juggling issues with Charlotte's dress with the chaos surrounding her father, Thomas Markle. He said his now-wife eventually ended up "sobbing on the floor".
Harry writes in his book, which came out at midnight in the UK after its premature release in Spain: "Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by."
Harry writes that Meghan said the tailor was named Ajay and was at "KP" which is Kensington Palace. The reported exchange between Meghan and Kate, according to Prince Harry was as follows:
- Kate: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a home."
- Meghan: "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?"
- Kate: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."
- Meghan: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day."
- Kate: "Fine."
Harry also claims that Kate said she had discussed the issue with her "own wedding designer" and they agreed. The Duke said juggling issues with Charlotte's dress with the chaos surrounding her father led to Meghan "sobbing on the floor".
