Prince Harry follows in Diana's footsteps with huge new Netflix project without Meghan

Prince Harry is said to be in the middle of making his big return to Africa to film a new documentary for Netflix.

However this new alleged solo project will not include Meghan Markle and is the next phase of their £78m deal with world-famous streaming giant.

The Duke's new show is likely to come as a relief to the royal couple who suffered a huge blow earlier this month when they were dropped from their $20m Spotify deal, meaning Meghan's Archetypes podcast was axed after just one season.

Following their tough loss, speculation began to grow about the future of their Netflix deal which was also said to be "hanging in the balance" as reports emerged that the platform may follow Spotify's example and part ways with the couple.

However, things seem to finally be back on track for the Sussexes with Harry following in the footsteps of his late mother Princess Diana as he reportedly heads back to Africa for a new solo project, the Mirror reports.

Meghan is reportedly not included in the Duke's alleged new Netflix project in Africa (Netflix)

The reports came via Page Six, with a Netflix insider telling them: "Obviously, Harry has a lot of roots in Africa, and he feels at home there."

The publication also reported that the exact nature of the documentary has not yet been disclosed and Harry cannot move ahead with his plans because of the ongoing Hollywood writer's strike

During his previous Netflix documentary, the Duke appeared alongside his wife in their six-part series 'Harry & Meghan'.

The docuseries which was a huge success for Netflix was released in December last year and explored the pair's humble beginnings, life as a royal and their present-day family life after moving to the US to settle down outside of the Firm with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

News of Harry's new project comes just weeks after their Spotify blow following their initial one-off episode together before Meghan launched her own award-winning series Archetypes.

The 12-episode series saw the Duchess invite different celebrity guests onto the show to speak about the history of stereotypes that get used against women.

Some of her guests included tennis legend Serena Williams, singer Mariah Carey and socialite Paris Hilton.

As Harry takes on his own television work, Meghan is also apparently set for her "own one-woman show" as she reportedly has "offers pouring in" from numerous brands, according to a royal expert.

The Duchess of Sussex is believed to have hired a new agent who will help her to build more professional connections which Daniela Elser claims will lead her down a "divergent" career path to Harry.

Daniela added: "With their podcast deal with Spotify having gone the way of the Dodo and Princess Margaret, it is looking increasingly like the duchess has traded their Sussex double act for her own one-woman show.

"Meghan – and only Meghan – has a new super agent, and reportedly 'offers have been pouring in' for Meghan – and only Meghan".
