THE Prime Minister is expected to tell MPs the Government has “learned” from the Sue Gray report, according to reports.
Boris Johnson received the report – expected to be damning regarding the culture of drinking and partying in Downing Street during lockdown – on Wednesday morning.
He is expected to give a statement to the Commons this afternoon, immediately after Prime Minister’s Questions, which will take place at midday.
The BBC reports he is expected to say: “I commissioned this report to set the record straight and allow us all to move on.
“I accept full responsibility for my failings.
“I am humbled by the whole experience. We have learned our lesson.”
The BBC’s political editor Chris Mason tweeted that a No 10 source said one line in the Gray report says she is “pleased progress is being made in addressing the issues I raised”.
The report will be published later today and numbers around 40 pages, including photographs of rule-breaking incidents featuring pictures of the Prime Minister and Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
