FDA recalls blood pressure medication: Reason, affected drugs, and should you stop taking the pills?

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a nationwide recall of blood pressure medication. The Class II recall affects more than 25,000 bottles of 25 mg Chlorthalidone tablets manufactured by Inventia Healthcare Limited over concerns that the tablets do not meet required dissolution specifications.

The recall affects Chlorthalidone tablets with expiration date of April 2027. As per FDA, exposure to the recalled medicine could cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, while the likelihood of serious adverse health effects is considered low.
