Police have released an update after someone claims to have spotted a body floating on the River Aire in Allerton Bywater.
West Yorkshire Police, fire and ambulance services were called to Allerton Bywater at 9am on Tuesday, November 1, after a member of the public reported seeing a potential body in the River Aire near to Main Street.
A full search has been conducted of the river down into the Castleford area by the Riverside Medical Centre but nothing has been discovered.

A force spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing following a report from a member of the public yesterday (Tuesday, November 1) that they had seen a potential body in the River Aire near to Main Street. No body has been found."
A National Police Air Service helicopter also assisted in the search. The potential body was described as an adult, possibly male, and wearing a green top. Nothing was discovered and searches will remain ongoing in the river by underwater search teams.
DI Ryan Malyk of Leeds CID, has previously said: “Extensive searches have been conducted in the River Aire both in Allerton Bywater and Castleford including the deployment of a fire service boat and police helicopter.
“Nothing has been discovered but we will be continuing searches with specialist police divers. I would ask anyone who saw a person in the river or has any information which could assist our enquiries to contact us.”
