Police renew appeal to find Gateshead man missing for a week

Officers are re-appealing to the public to help locate a Gateshead man who has now been missing for a week.

Ian Malone, 52, was last seen in the Low Fell area at around 8am on Friday, April 7, and police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Officers understand that he could have been heading to the Hadrian’s Wall and Pennine Way areas of Northumberland when he went missing.

Detective Inspector Jason Henry, of Northumbria Police, said: "We have carried out extensive enquiries since Ian went missing to locate him.

"Today we are re-appealing to the public, those particularly in the Hadrian's Wall and also Pennine Way areas of the Northumberland Community, to come forward if they have any details regarding his whereabouts.

"Your information, no matter how small, could be vital to our search effort."

Ian is described as a white male, of medium build, around 5ft11 in height, with a bald head.

He is usually clean shaven, but sometimes has a goatee beard.

Ian is believed to be wearing black jogging bottoms, with a blue jumper and black puffer jacket. He also often wears glasses.

Ian, or anyone who has seen him, is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101 immediately, quoting log NP-20230407-1045.
