Police have launched a manhunt after an officer was allegedly dragged along a road by a moving car.
Detectives want to speak to Wahid Hussain in connection with the incident, which took place at 11.15pm yesterday in the town of Accrington, Lancashire.
The 34-year-old also has links to Nelson and the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, said police.
The force urged members of the public not to approach Hussain if they see him, but instead call 999.
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed that the officer escaped without being badly hurt.
A spokesperson told Lancashire Live: "Thankfully the officer was not seriously injured."
Police released a photo of Hussain on social media in an appeal to track down his whereabouts.
They said in a statement: "Have you seen 34-year-old Wahid Hussain from Accrington?
"We want to speak to him after a police officer was dragged by a moving car in Blackburn Road, Accrington, at around 11.15pm yesterday (January 19).
"He has links to Accrington, Nelson and the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester.
"The public are advised not to approach Hussain but to report any information on his whereabouts to police."
