Police launch appeal for missing woman last seen in Glasgow's West End

Cops have launched a frantic search after a woman vanished in Glasgow this morning.

Officers say Laura McCrone, 35, was last seen around 9am this morning, January 28, in Beith Street, Partick, Glasgow.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and said Laura's family are 'extremely worried.'

Laura is white, around 5ft 5ins in height, with a stocky build, fair complexion and brown hair, tied in a bun.

When last seen she was wearing a long, navy-blue padded jacket with a fur hood, light blue jeans and white trainers.

Cops say extensive enquiries are under way to locate Laura with officers continuing to speak to her family and friends for any further information.

Officers are also checking relevant CCTV footage for any detail on where Laura may have gone.

Inspector James McFarlane said: “Laura’s family is extremely worried for her and just want her home safe and well.

"We are continuing to review CCTV images and are linking in with local transport providers.

"I would ask anyone who may have seen Laura or who has any information as to her whereabouts to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0728 of Saturday, 28 January, 2023.
