The road is popular with drivers heading between the west end of Paisley and the town centre.

Police say they are keeping an open mind as to whether the two incidents are linked.

Detective Constable Barry Gourley, of Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully, nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless behaviour.

“We are keeping an open mind that the two incidents may be connected and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, and who may have seen anything suspicious, to get in touch.

“Anyone with information should contact officers via 101 quoting reference 0138 of Monday, May 23.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
