A woman was taken to hospital after police were called to the M60 over 'concerns for her welfare'.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene on the motorway, near the junction with the M56 link road, at around 1.30am on Monday morning (May 22). The woman suffered 'life-changing' injuries, police said.
An eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News they saw multiple emergency vehicles on the scene near a bridge over the motorway. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 1.30am on Monday 22 May 2023 to reports for the concern for welfare of a woman in her 30’s near the M60 junction near to M56 link road, Stockport.

"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as not life threatening but life-changing."
