Officers are appealing for information after a man was taken to hospital following a suspected assault in County Durham.
Durham Constabulary was called to Church Street in Seaham shortly after 7pm following reports that a man had been assaulted. Paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service also attended the scene and took the man to hospital.
The force is now appealing for anyone with information on the suspected assault to get in touch with them and reminded the public that information can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police are investigating a suspected assault which took place in Seaham yesterday evening (October 11).
"Officers were called to Church Street shortly after 7pm following reports that a man had been assaulted. Paramedics also attended and took the man to hospital.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 377 of October 11. Alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
