Pneumonic plague suspected in Russia: What we know and what is the risk to Europe?

A staff member at the anti-plague institute in Irkutsk, Russia, died [when?] after a test tube broke in the laboratory, regional media reported, citing unnamed sources close to the region’s security services.

Russian authorities said they found no evidence that her illness was caused by any of the pathogens she worked with.
