Beer producer Camden Town Brewery has created a new, limited-edition lager to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Liz, Jolly Good Lager is brewed with British hops and malts, before adding lemon zest and bergamot to create an Earl Grey-inspired flavour.
Earl Grey is understood to be one of the monarch's favourite beverages so Camden Town Brewery opted to give its latest beer a flavour that would be appreciated by Her Majesty. The lager will be available to buy in larger, 500ml bottles, and has an ABV of 5.0%.
Fred Nesbitt, head of marketing at Camden Town Brewery, said: “As a British brand, we wanted to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee with a special, celebratory beer that was true to Camden’s way of brewing things. In honour of a British icon, we’ve brewed a lager with all British malt and hops, adding a touch of lemon-zest and bergamot giving Liz its distinctive tea-inspired profile."
