Comedian Adam DeVine has opened up about the terrifying moment he and his wife Chloe Bridges witnessed a man get "gunned down" and killed outside their $2.6 million (£2million) mansion.
The Pitch Perfect star, 39, said they had been sitting on the balcony of their Hollywood home as they witnessed a "crazy poker game" taking place in their neighbour's house.
Adam said guests had been "rolling up [to the house] in Lamborghini's and Bentley's and Rolls Royce's" and he and Chloe thought it would be "fun to sit and watch".
Speaking on the This Is Important podcast, Adam then warned the audience that "this is where it gets sad" before exclaiming: "Someone was murdered there!"
"Dude, I called that s*** I called that s***. I was like, 'This is dastardly s*** going down here,' and sure enough someone is gunned down," he continued.
Host Kyle Newacheck replied: "That is sad," with Anders Holm adding: "Yeah a real person, no longer with us."
Defending his retelling of the shooting, Adam continued: "Yeah but, that happens, people be dying. This isn't Hollywood, this is a story about my actual life."
The man who was sadly shot dead was later identified as 39-year-old Emil Lahaziel, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police responded to Adam's neighbour's house at around 2am and found Emil who had been shot.
The victim had been standing outside the property talking to another man who pulled out a handgun and shot at Emil multiple times.
A neighbour, Kimberley Block told KTLA5 : "During the party, the valet let one of the guests know that somebody had arrived and was outside and wanted to talk to him.
"So the guest left the party, left the house, came outside and there was a squabble. The guy in the car shot the guest."
Police said that the suspect drove away.
They had tried to perform CPR on Emil until Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived, but the 39-year-old died at the scene.
