Piers Morgan furiously branded Boris Johnson a “serial liar” and demanded he “get in the bin” following the release of the Partygate report.
The Privileges Committee found that the former PM had misled Parliament five times over allegations of law-breaking parties during lockdown at Number 10, but Boris has categorically denied any wrongdoing.
During his Piers Morgan Uncensored show on TalkTV, the journalist launched into a fiery tirade against the disgraced politician, and shared a clip of Boris at the beginning of lockdown, urging people to “stay at home”.
Piers recalled the devastating deaths of a 13-year-old boy who was “buried alone by men in hazmat suits”, and the terrifying fear that gripped the nation - and the world - amid the pandemic.
“The late Queen, masked and alone, as she mourned her husband of 73 years,” Piers continued, as a picture of the late monarch sat alone at Prince Phillip’s funeral in 2021 was shown.
“ Boris Johnson ’s government posted posters of Covid victims across the country, with the words, ‘Look her in the eyes and tell her you never twisted the rules’. But Boris Johnson bent the rules,” he fumed.
“Most of his staff bent the rules. And regardless of what you think of those rules with the benefit of hindsight, Boris Johnson was the man who made those rules, and ordered the rest of the country to follow them,” a raging Piers told viewers.
Piers said the report published by the Privileges Committee on whether Boris broke those rules during lockdown was “excoriating”.
He then read out a statement included in the report from a Downing Street official, which claimed Number 10 held “wine time Fridays” throughout the entirety of lockdown, while social distancing and wearing masks was not enforced.
The unnamed Downing Street employee said Number 10 was “an island oasis of normality”, with one party held the night before Prince Phillip’s funeral.
“When the truth came out, as it always does, Boris Johnson did what Boris Johnson does best - he lied. Just a massive lie,” he stated.
“Remember, this isn’t some rogue backbench moron. This was the Prime Minister. And his response today, as ever, was to cry conspiracy and blame everybody else.
Blasting Boris as “ Donald Trump with a thesaurus”, he ripped into the disgraced politician.
“The fact is, Boris is a serial liar. He was sacked from two previous jobs for lying. He’s now lying about the people who exposed his lies by calling them liars,” Piers said.
Calling the report “30,000 pages of shame”, he said: “Most former Prime Ministers go into the annals of history. Boris, frankly, can get in the bin.”
