Australia's F1 world championship leader Oscar Piastri has been left frustrated by a double blow on a "cruel" day for the McLaren ace at the Miami Grand Prix.
First, Piastri could only finish runner-up in a rain-hit, chaotic sprint that he'd been controlling from the front, until a late safety car instead gifted his victory in the short-format race to his teammate Lando Norris.
Then later on Saturday (local time), after showing impressive pace around the Hard Rock Stadium circuit in qualifying for Sunday's main show, he could only put together a scruffy final lap in Q3 to finish fourth fastest.
