New Orleans Pelicans veteran guard CJ McCollum started the Pels’ road tilt against the Boston Celtics like a man possessed, casually hitting seemingly every shot he attempted.
But despite 38 points from McCollum, it couldn’t compete with the game brought by Boston’s star wings Jaylen Brown (41 points, 12 rebounds) and Jayson Tatum (31 points, 10 boards). A close contest until midway through the third quarter, Boston led by as much as 19, Boston outrebounding New Orleans 50-33 in this contest was key to the win, as was a renewed focus on defense.
Al Horford had a solid game with 14 points, and Malcolm Brogdon was especially important off of the bench with 20 points.
