The Boston Celtics have been burned by Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks in the past. But in Thursday night’s tilt with the Mavs at TD Garden, the Celtics were in control from tip to the final buzzer, save for a brief moment Dallas held a 3-point lead at the start of the game, with the final score 138-110.
Boston could not miss from anywhere on the court, shooting 55.3% from the floor overall and 48.8% from beyond the arc, holding Dallas to just 26.5% from deep. The Celtics also won the march of dimes by 13 assists, the battle of the boards by 5 rebounds, and doubled up the Mavs 8-4 in blocks. Combined, Dallas never really had a chance, even if the game was close early on.
