Peter Kay 2023 tour Newcastle Utilita Arena ticket prices including booking fee

The remaining tickets to see Peter Kay live at Newcastle's Utilita Arena are on sale from 10am on Saturday.

Demand is expected to be high, with pre-sales casuing websites to crash and tickets already turning up on tout sites for inflated prices. The tour held over 2022 to 2023 is set to be the stand-up's first since 2010, although he did cancel one planned for 2018-2019 due to unforeseen circumstances.

Ticketmaster, Seetickets and Gigs and Tours will all be selling tickets for Peter's shows in Newcastle on Thursday March 9 and Friday March 10.

The Phoenix Nights creator has tried to keep ticket prices as low as possible in light of the cost of living crisis. The cheapest ones cost £35 - plus a booking fee slapped on by the ticket retailers - which is the same as the lowest category for his last tour.

Peter Kay 2023 tour Newcastle ticket prices and booking fees

While Peter Kay is charging £35 for the lowest price tickets, the ticket vendors add on their own booking fees which make the tickets more expensive.

According to SeeTickets and Gigs and Tours, these are the prices for Peter Kay's Newcastle shows. Further fees and postage cost may apply. Ticketmaster's are not listed yet.

The booking fee is on a per-ticket basis. If you buy multiple tickets, the fee still applies to each one.

Seats

  • £35 (£41.55 including booking fee)
  • £50 (£58.05 including booking fee)
  • £65 (£74.55 including booking fee)

Best seat package (includes gift, programme and VIP laminate/lanyard)

  • £135 (£151.25 including booking fee)

Why are Peter Kay booking fees so expensive?

They're annoying for customers and do not benefit the artist, but ticket vendors say the fees are essential for their business.

On booking fees, Seetickets says: "The face value of a ticket is set by the event organisers. Most don't pay us anything to sell their tickets, so in order to make money See has to charge a little bit on top. The ticket cost is the face value plus the booking fee. We have to do this on a per-ticket basis to cover the cost of providing a 7 days a week, 24 hours a day booking service, labour costs, credit card commissions and all the other costs associated with running our business. The actual amount we charge is negotiated with the venue or promoter for each event."
