Celebs Go Dating star Pete Wicks was left emotional as the reality show spoke with the dating experts on the E4 show and told them his grandmother died in recent months.
The TOWIE favourite, 34, has had a number of failed relationships in the public eye, but is determined to find ‘the one’.
He has once again enlisted the help of the E4 dating show as he finally tries to settle down with the help of relationship experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson.
Even his f ellow celebrities were surprised to see Pete on the show again when he walked into the dating agency after a previous two runs at finding love.
However, Pete insisted his approach will be different this time as he visited the London celebrity dating agency.
Opening up about himself, Pete said he has hardened into someone who ‘gets on with things’, adding: “I don’t like being vulnerable, especially in front of people. It was probably a build up of things when I was younger.”
Pete then described how his father left him and his mother when he was a young boy, which he said left him with a lot of ‘sadness and anger’.
He said: “It’s been something I've managed to keep under control for years. Recently, I've found it a lot harder.”
The TOWIE star then choked up as he told the experts he recently lost his grandmother as well, adding: “I just felt sad for years.”
Relationship expert Anna then asked: “Have you even remotely allowed yourself to grieve?” as Pete held back tears saying: “In my way, but it’s been tough.”
Anna said: “I’m not saying you have to do this now, but when it feels right for you, allow it out.”
This comes after Anna promised fans they will see a different side to the star on his third go.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, the Relationship Place co-founder said: "I think Pete is a great example of recognising when you're going through things in life and when the timing is perhaps right."
She continued: "Pete has been through a lot this year emotionally and wanted to do things a bit differently and wants to kind of move forward but, like a lot of people, needs a little bit of help and coaching to do that and every credit to him for saying that now is the time. Pete has the most phenomenal journey on this series."
Despite Pete's apparent reputation, Anna says the agency deals with everyone in the same way and doesn't hold any judgement or have any preconceived ideas about their celebs.
Anna said: "The beauty of the agency is that all [bad press] is left at the door when they arrive with us.
"It's about working on the here and now and their future and I think what's really lovely particularly with those guys that are pretty synonymous with being ladies men, is seeing the real side for them...seeing the side that is a lot more considered, emotionally intelligent, and emotionally mature and you will see some really good progress from all of the boys."
