People on certain benefits or low income can get fibre broadband for £15 each month

The cost of living crisis is forcing people to take a closer look at their finances to cut as much off their outgoings as possible in order to stay on top of rising energy bills and soaring inflation rates. One way millions of people may be able to slash their bills is to choose a ‘social tariff’ broadband package, which is available from most of the big providers from as little as £15 per month.

Leaders of the UK’s major fixed broadband, landline and mobile operators agreed a set of commitments with the UK Government in June, which are designed to support households through the crisis. Ofcom recently said it has found that social tariffs are currently available to around 4.2 million households in receipt of Universal Credit, but only 55,000 homes - 1.2 per cent of those eligible - have taken advantage of the deals this year.

A number of providers also accept those in receipt of other means-tested benefits, below is a quick guide to deals from BT, Sky, Now Broadband and Virgin Media.
