A pensioner was knocked down by a car as police closed a road in both directions.
Merseyside Police were called to Belvidere Road in Wallasey, Wirral, at around 2.30pm on Monday, December 19, following reports of an incident. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a woman in her 70s had been involved in a crash with a black Volkswagen.
Emergency services were called and a road closure was put in place. The woman was taken to hospital for assessment, it's unclear how serious her injuries are.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We are currently in attendance following a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Belvidere Road, in Wallasey. We received a report that a woman in her 70s had been involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen.
"Emergency services are in attendance and a road closure is currently in place."
