Passenger arrested over racist and homophobic abuse on London Paddington to Swansea train

A man was arrested after shouting racial and homophobic abuse on a train from London Paddington to Swansea.

The man boarded the train in coach K at roughly 8.50pm on Friday, July 21 and began accosting other travellers.

He shouted homophobic and racist slurs at several passengers and even racially abused a family who left the service at Swindon.

British Transport Police arrested the man at Cardiff Central. He was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and possession of a Class B substance.

The man has since been released on bail.

Officers have appealed for witnesses and would particularly like to hear from the family who left the service at Swindon.
