Paris Hilton has admitted she snubbed the US President Joe Biden so she could attend Britney Spears’ wedding.
The 41-year-old socialite said she had been asked by Biden to DJ at a summit of world leaders, however, the date clashed with Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari.
Hilton explained she refused to miss her friend’s big day and so politely declined the invite to DJ at the Summit of America’s dinner.
Speaking to Chelsea Handler who presented the Jimmy Kimmel show this week, Hilton said she wasn’t prepared to skip her close friend’s event - even if Biden’s team offered to send in a helicopter.
“I was asked by President Biden and their team to go DJ that summit dinner with all the leaders of the world, but it was the same night as Britney’s wedding,” Hilton said on the show.
“No, I’m not going to miss that. They’re like ‘We’ll send a helicopter and you can fly back and forth.’”
However, Hilton was not prepared to outshine the bride.
She added: “I’m not going to be the one landing in and out at Britney’s wedding in a helicopter. So I had to cancel on the President.”
The Standard approached a representative for the White House.
Earlier this month, Spears married her long-term boyfriend in an “intimate” ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family.
There were many famous faces on the guest list including, Madonna, Donatella Versace, Drew Barrymore and Selina Gomez.
During her guest appearance on the talk show, Hilton also gushed over her famous friend’s big day.
Hilton continued: “Seeing her walk down the aisle, this angel, who’s had a horrible time these past 13 years to finally have her freedom and to be able to do what she wants and have that happy fairytale ending was just beautiful.”
Since her wedding, Spears and Asghari have moved into a lavish new home and shared lots of happy posts on social media as they continue to settle into married life.
