It's a rare day that you'll not be able to help your child with their homework, but parents have been left stumped after coming face to face with a tricky task that they couldn't work out at all.
At the start of the worksheet, pupils are asked to write the letter T over and over again, which seems simple enough. Things get far more confusing when it comes to the rabbit drawing further down the list, however, as the accompanying question is difficult to figure out.
One social media user took to Reddit to ask others for help after being left a little dumbfounded by the task, sharing what their child had already filled in on the sheet.
For the homework task the child was asked to write the capital and lowercase versions of the letter.
They were also presented with drawn images, and they had to figure out what the word was based on the pictures displayed.
They were encouraged to 'tap out the word in the picture and write the sounds you hear.'
One picture clearly showed a bathtub, one showed the number ten, and the other showed a spinning top - but it was the family of rabbits that really stumped people.
The parent posted on Reddit: "Son's kindergarten school work. What 3-4 letter word is this", and people are divided.
One wrote: "Has to be pet. These kinds of worksheets try to make the last one more difficult by switching the sound of the letter to the end of the word to try and throw the kid off."
"Yep. As a former teacher I've been stumped before, but this one is definitely 'pet'", someone waded in.
Another said they would go for 'cat', but someone else suggested the answer could be "kit" – as this is the term used to refer to a baby rabbit.
But others aren't convinced as there is an adult rabbit in the drawing.
"My 40yr old brain totally wasn’t outsmarted by a kindergarten workbook page…Nope definitely not", a Redditor joked.
A social media user complimented: "On the good side, those are some very nicely written letters for a kindergartner."
