As expected, the Carolina Panthers will—in fact—have their two biggest dogs on defense this afternoon.
Outside linebacker Brian Burns (ankle) and defensive tackle Derrick Brown (ankle/knee) will be active for the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Both players were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
Also as expected, the Panthers will be without starting safeties Vonn Bell and Xavier Woods. Starting in their places should be Sam Franklin Jr., who is getting his third consecutive nod, and Matthias Farley, one of two elevations from the practice squad this weekend.
They’ll be joined by running back Miles Sanders, who is out with a shoulder injury. Per head coach Frank Reich, Chuba Hubbard is likely to receive the bulk of the carries.
Here is the entire list of inactives for the Panthers:
- S Vonn Bell
- TE Giovanni Ricci
- RB Miles Sanders
- OT David Sharpe
- S Xavier Woods
- G Chandler Zavala
As for the Dolphins:
- WR Chase Claypool
- S Kelvin Joseph
- TE Tyler Kroft
- DT Brandon Pili
- QB Skylar Thompson
- OL Connor Williams
