Fitch, of Bankfoot Road, in the town was on bail when he brutally assaulted Ms Daly at the time of the offence having been granted bail on March 26, 2019 at Paisley Sheriff Court.
On sentencing, Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill said: “You assaulted the complainer who was pregnant at the time, with a dog chain and you struck her on the back.
“This is a very serious matter.
“In this case you well and truly fit into the category of custody, however I am prepared to impose a community payback order.”
Sheriff Gill ordered Fitch to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the community and placed him on a restriction of liberty order assessment for six months keeping him within his home address between 7pm and 7am each day.
Sheriff Gill warned Fitch that if he breaches the order then she will revoke the orders and impose a custodial sentence.
