A mum was told she could have just months left to live after a pain in her side turned out to be bowel cancer.
Ros Atkins, from Gateacre, Liverpool, was on holiday in Scotland with her husband John, 42, and their daughter Maggie, six, when she first started experiencing pain in the right side of her body which felt like a stitch.
The Liverpool Echo reports that 43-year-old said she thought she might have pulled a muscle while sleeping in different hotel beds at the time, but when the pain got worse on returning home she booked an appointment to see her GP.
