Packers sign former Browns edge rusher to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers signed edge rusher Jeremiah Martin to the team’s practice squad on Wednesday.

Martin (6-3, 265) went undrafted out of Washington in 2023. He spent training camp with the Cleveland Browns during each of the last two seasons and was also with the New York Giants between January and May of this year.

Over three preseason games with the Browns in 2024, Martin produced two pressures (including a sack) and three stops while playing 58 snaps. He also missed two tackles and had a penalty.

During his final collegiate season at Washington, Martin produced 8.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup over 13 games. He spent his first three seasons at Texas A&M before transferring to Washinton for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

While he ran a 4.9-second 40-yard dash coming out of college, Martin did post a 35.5″ vertical leap and 9-11 broad jump while finishing the three-cone drill in 7.09 seconds — all good numbers for a player his size.

Martin joins Deslin Alexandre as the only edge rushers on the Packers’ practice squad.

The Packers must have lost a player from the practice squad on Wednesday to open up a spot for Martin. On Monday, the Packers signed veteran offensive lineman Michael Jordan to the practice squad and released offensive tackle Spencer Rolland.
