Pacers Announce Injury News Regarding Bennedict Mathurin

Indiana Pacers wing Bennedict Mathurin will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, the team announced Saturday.

Renowned surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache will perform the surgery on Mathurin in Los Angeles next week. Mathurin is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Mathurin, who is a second-year player out of Arizona, played in 59 games for Indiana this season, which included 19 starts. He averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game on 44.6% shooting, as he continued to emerge as a key member of the rotation for the 35–29 Pacers.

Indiana enters Sunday's contest in Orlando as the No. 8 seed in the East, and on track to make its first playoff appearance since August 2020 in the NBA's COVID bubble.
